In Meereen, Tyrion meets with the slave masters of Slaver’s Bay to offer peace if they will end slavery within seven years, an action that angers Missandei and Grey Worm. Littlefinger returns to the Vale to mobilize their soldiers against Ramsay Bolton. In King’s Landing, Margarey is permitted to visit Loras while Cersei, Jamie, Kevan and Lady Olenna plan to stop the High Sparrow. However, Ramsay indicates that he is aware Osha used a similar ruse to escape Theon. Realizing this, she tries to stab him, but he quickly slashes her in the neck with another knife, killing her.
RAMSAY: You’re a good talker. I like that. You’re a much better talker than Theon Greyjoy.
OSHA: That so?
RAMSAY: I had to work hard to get him talking. But he talked. They all do. He told me everything. All about the Stark boys, who helped them escape, and how she did it.
At the Wall
A letter from Ramsay to Jon arrives. Ramsay boasts that he has Rickon in his custody and Shaggydog’s skin as a rug. He demands Sansa’s return, threatening to have the Bolton army exterminate the wildlings, torture and kill Rickon and gang-rape Sansa while forcing Jon to watch before they blind and kill him. Angered, Sansa decides to fight to take back Winterfell from the Boltons, and Jon agrees. When Tormund warns him that the wildlings don’t have the numbers to battle Ramsay’s army, Sansa points out that Jon can use his status as the son of the “last true Warden of the North” to unite the various Northern houses and take Ramsay down.
MAN: A letter for you, Lord Commander.
JON: I’m not Lord Commander anymore. “To the traitor and bastard Jon Snow. You allowed thousands of wildlings past the Wall. You have betrayed your own kind. You have betrayed the North. Winterfell is mine, bastard. Come and see. Your brother Rickon is in my dungeon. His direwolf’s skin is on my floor. Come and see. I want my bride back. Send her to me, bastard, and I will not trouble you or your wildling lovers. Keep her from me and I will ride north and slaughter every wildling man, woman, and babe living under your protection. You will watch as I skin them living. You–“
SANSA: Go on.
JON: It’s just more of the same.
SANSA: “You will watch as my soldiers take turns raping your sister. You will watch as my dogs devour your wild little brother. Then I will spoon your eyes from their sockets and let my dogs do the rest. Come and see. Ramsay Bolton, Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North.”
JON: Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North.
SANSA: His father’s dead. Ramsay killed him. And now he has Rickon.
JON: We don’t know that.
SANSA: Yes, we do.
TORMUND: How many men does he have in his army?
SANSA: I heard him say 5,000 once when he was talking about Stannis’s attack.
JON: How many do you have?
TORMUND: That can march and fight? Two thousand. The rest are children and old people.
SANSA: You’re the son of the last true Warden of the North. Northern families are loyal. They’ll fight for you if you ask. A monster has taken our home and our brother. We have to go back to Winterfell and save them both.
