Arya trains using sticks with the Waif in the House of Black and White. In between sessions, the Waif questions Arya about who she used to be. Arya reveals all of her family members and reveals that she had taken the Hound off of her kill list before she left him to die. The Waif questions who the other names were on the list, which Arya reveals as Cersei Lannister, Gregor Clegane, and Walder Frey.
THE WAIF: Who are you?
ARYA: No one.
THE WAIF: Who were you before you came here?
ARYA: Arya Stark.
THE WAIF: Tell me about Arya Stark’s family.
ARYA: Her father was Eddard Stark. Her mother was Catelyn Stark. She had one sister, Sansa, and four brothers. Three brothers. Robb, Bran, Rickon. And a half-brother Jon.
THE WAIF: And where are they now?
ARYA: They may be dead for all a girl knows.
THE WAIF: Tell me about the Hound.
ARYA: Also dead. Arya Stark left him to die. He was on her list. He was not on her list anymore. She had taken him off it.
THE WAIF: Why? Didn’t she want him dead any longer?
ARYA: She did and she did not.
THE WAIF: She sounds confused.
ARYA: Yes, she was.
THE WAIF: Who else was on Arya Stark’s funny little list?
ARYA: Cersei Lannister. Gregor Clegane. Walder Frey.
THE WAIF: That’s a short list. That can’t be everyone you want to kill. Are you sure you’re not forgetting someone?
ARYA: Which name would you like a girl to speak?
